The driving lesson

A driving lesson lasts 90 minutes, unless otherwise agreed. This is to ensure there is enough time to drive to the exam practice area, practise, and then drive back.

You will be picked up at your home, and at the end of the lesson you drive to meet the next pupil, who will then in turn bring you back home.

How the course is built up

1. Basic skills close to home

   The first lessons take place on quiet roads near residential areas, where you are taught the basic driving skills such as the correct sitting position, steering and changing gear.

2. The special manoeuvres

   Then there follow a number of lessons dedicated to the special manoeuvres, through which you acquire good control of the vehicle.

3. Driving in and around Arnhem

   After that, lessons are given in and around the city of Arnhem, where there is a large variety of traffic situations and where you get accustomed to the driving test area.

How many lessons will you need?

How many lessons are needed differs for each person. It depends, among other things, on talent, motivation, age and learning style. On average the number of lessons required to pass the test is around thirty.

For this reason the school schedules only single lessons instead of package deals. It is very difficult, after just one introductory lesson, to estimate the number of lessons someone will need in order to be ready for the driving test. By working with single lessons you avoid taking more lessons than actually necessary.

The school car

The driving school car is a Hyundai i20 with a diesel engine and a manual gearbox. This is a compact, convenient and user friendly car and therefore very well suited to its purpose. Because you learn in a manual car, your licence will not carry an automatic restriction.
